Kanava replaces radios on connected locations — and does everything radios cannot. Here is exactly where the line is.
Connectivity
- Kanava requires an internet connection to transmit live voice.
- Works over Wi-Fi and 4G/5G mobile networks.
- If connectivity is lost, live push-to-talk audio cannot be transmitted. Users reconnect automatically when the connection returns.
- Kanava does not currently support local Wi-Fi-only communication without internet.
Bandwidth
- Voice communication is optimised for low-bandwidth operation.
- Exact bandwidth depends on the voice codec, network conditions and speaking activity.
- We do not publish a fixed per-user figure until it has been measured under production conditions.
Battery
- Kanava minimises battery use by transmitting audio only while the push-to-talk button is held.
- Actual battery life depends on device model, screen usage, network quality and speaking time.
- We do not publish battery-hour estimates until they are validated in real-world testing.
